January 21 I talk too muchI'm sure many of you that know me personally will be like, HUH! to the Title of this blog but it has been confirmed...Well, at least Sprint can confirm. I spoke a total of 3,276 minutes last month. That is 54.6 hours which is 2.27 days!!! It's as if I spent a whole weekend just talking none stop! I talk too much...but I'm loved that way. :-) January 03 Welcoming in 2006Hello ALL!
Welcome to 2006 - "The Perfect Year"!
Just like in the song from the musical Sunset Boulevard "So many dreams to tease the heart".
New year, new expectations...
And just like the priest said in yesterday's mass, "a new blank canvas...so many possibilities..."
Well, New Year's Resolutions:
- Exercise
- Keep singing
- Do a good job at work
- Keep in touch with family and friends
- Do stuff on my new mac
- Read books
- Play video games
- And so many other things...
BTW, I have been "pimping up" my mac. That's the term people keep on using. Elfred says that I am becoming a "web 2.0 user". *Shrug* November 17 News definitely worth blogging! So, I have said to various friends of mine that I will start blogging more and I guess there is no better time to start than with the following news:
Elfred and I got back together!
I couldn't be happier! Third time's a charm! So wish us luck everybody! September 14 Summer is gone :-(Hello everybody!
It seemed that summer started and I disappeared! Well, it's just that I started doing a lot of things.
Here are some of the highlights of my summer!
I joined Dahn Yoga. Truly a wonderful experience to enhance mind, body and soul. I have learned how my mind can control my body. Also, my body has definitely gotten healthier (and more flexible!). I was able to go to YEHA, the Young Earth-Human Alliance Awakening Camp in Sedona, Arizona. It was truly a WONDERFUL experience. I met a lot of people and received a lot of love. I love you guys! Keep up the HSP smiles! I have posted pictures from YEHA and Sedona in the photo album area.
I was also able to give my first singing recital. I sung "I Feel Pretty" and "One Hand, One Heart" both from the musical West Side Story. How much I missed performing! And they both came out rather well!
I finally went camping! I went with Mando, Pablo, Becky, Craig and Julia. We had a good time. Check out the pictures in the phote album area.
My good old friend Wendy came for a visit over Labor Day Weekend. We did some hiking, partying and went to Bumbershoot!
Finally this past weekend I participated in WIGI, the first Women In Games Internation conference. Truly a wonderful and motivating experience to see women succeding in the gaming industry. (That on this note I recently bought Advance Wars: Dual Strike. You can never go wrong with Advance Wars. Wonderful game!)
Well, as you can see it was a busy summer. I'm glad I enjoyed it!
Enjoy the pictures! April 29 Crop CirclesAbout 2 weeks ago, I was having a nightly chat with a few friends of mine. One of the topics discussed was that of the Crop Circles - the mysterious geomatrical formations made on crops throughout the world. Well, it just so happens that I turned on the TV and what program is on? A program on TLC about Crop Circles. I must say, they are VERY impressive. Check out this site to see a lot of impressive photos. One of the images that has impressed me the most was this formation of about 75 circles, with some circles being almost up to 75 feet in diameter. Although, you see something like this formation and DEFINITELY that one has to be a hoax. I must say, whoever is really making these, are getting VERY good at them. Just compare the ones from the early 1990's to the ones in the early 2000s. You can definitely notice the improvement. Will this mystery ever be solved? April 26 The grandness of being a womanToday, I feel like singing Shania Twain's song: Man! I feel like a woman. I woke up today having this great sense of being a woman. I know that the feeling initiated when I bought a new purse yesterday. For over a year I have been looking for a white purse that matches a pair of white sandals that I have. That's right guys, a year looking for a purse (although I wasn't actively going to the mall each weekend looking for one). I finally found one yesterday that I thought it suited me. So, because I have to show off my new purse, I had to wear my white sandals. And I thought, well being spring and all, I think I can try wearing a skirt instead of jeans...that way people will really notice my sandals. I must say, clothes has a powerful influence on how you feel (or at least to me). Take yesterday for example. I was wearing my <GEEK> shirt (you can get one from Think Geek, and guys, there is one for you too). I even got to the point of quoting Star Wars! I was definitely in touch with my inner geek yesterday. So today having a skirt and all, you know, you feel you have to dress up a little (wear the hair nicely, put on a little bit of make-up, etc.) You have to also sit properly and walk very feminine. All in all, it gives me this great sense of girlieness. I just can't be thankful enough that I am a woman today. Hehehehe, my girlieness is taking so much over me today that I just couldn't help think that the little dog that appears in the Search window in Windows is so cute. I left a search that I did over night. And what do I see when I bring up the window today? The little dog is sleeping! That is soo cute. I took a snap shot for all those curious to see it.
April 24 At the Car Wash...I was driving down Redmond Way yesterday when I noticed that there is a self-Car Wash there. I admit it that since getting my car, I have been a little snotty and not wanting to pass it through a normal car wash lest it not be scratched. So, I decided to pull in and see how it goes. Out of all my siblings I have the least experience with washing cars. So I felt this feeling of realization when I was enganged in the task. It was a lot of fun although I did miss some spots and the windows still came out a bit dirty. Now I know for next time to dry the windows with a VERY clean cloth. But anyways, the importance thing is that I washed my car and I vacummed the inside. I was so proud. March 01 Gee, I don't know...So, the graduation pictures arrived (that's right Colegiales...make sure you have saved the receit!). And well...I don't know... My mom said I came out beautiful...but then again, mom's always think that their children are beautiful. What do you people think? I feel like I took an 8th grade picture. I think I look just about the same from my 8th grade graduation picture. Man, my COLLEGE graduation picture looking like my 8th grade picture...What does that mean??? That I don't age?? That I still look 13!!! Ugh, I'm going to bed... January 24 A possible future?I came across this link today. Could this be a possible future for our media world? What do you think? January 19 People just don't know how to parkI think the smallest parking spots that I have ever seen have been here in Seattle. Man, just because your car can fit, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have enough space to open the door of your car and get out. I'm going to start using my moonroof soon to get out. Well, today I arrive at work and another annoying person parked wrong. I mean, people! Your car doesn't have to take half of the parking spot in front of you. The result of that is that my car is half in a parking spot and half not. People like that annoy me. That they don't have the mentaility of thinking, Hey, if I move a little closer to this side, this will give the other guy some room to get out using his door. Or, Hey, if I have a Corolla, I don't have to park as if it were a Hummer and take everybody's elses space. People are truly annoying... January 06 2004...moving on to 20052004...what a year! A year of a lot of changes. To think, that in one year, I finished college, moved from Puerto Rico to Washington, started working at Microsoft, got my own apartment, car, meet so many people... My last semester in college was an interesting one. Very hectic in terms of class wise, but really got to know the people I hanged out with. With our Thursday Chilli's nights, dominoes, and partying, man it was a blast...Then came graduation and our trip to Dominican Republic. Very good indeed! Survivor UPR! Then came packing time and dealing with some family issues. My last few weeks in Puerto Rico were not the best. I finally moved and started here in MS. Didn't know what to expect. I rapidly started the NGN events, and boy! Did I meet a lot of people! Cool crowd. I also started hanging out more with my DnD crew and the puertorrican crew. Weeks went by. I started dealing with the responsabilities of work and being an adult. Not easy I must say. Very stressful at the same time. But I had a lot of support and was able to get through things. Then I met the basketball crew...more cheering fun. Almost close to the end of the year, I had two more things to deal with. More family issues and switching from a PM to an SDET. Yeap, I closed the year with some stuff. Now, I look forward to 2005. New job, friends to hang out with, a new stage for my family...2 weddings as well (up to now)! 2005 could still be a year of a lot of change, but hopefully it would be more gradual than last year. New Year's Resolutions:
December 26 Sad news...Our oldest dog, Zabache, died today. He was really sick. He was diagnosed with Distemper a couple of years ago. In fact, nobody could understand how was it that he was still alive. He got really sick one time, but they were able to put him back on his paws. Below are pictures of him. He was born on October 5, 1989. We had gotten him from an animal shelter in the states sometime in Dec. of 1989. I remember that we had gotten there fairly late so there weren't many dogs to choose from. We saw him and after all of my siblings agreed, we decided to adopt him. We named him, Zabache, which comes from Azabache, the spanish translation for Onyx. As you can assume he was black then. He was a mixed terrier. He was very intelligent and active. He protected our home and brought joy to my siblings and I. The first and only dog that my family has had that lived with us inside the house. He really became part of our family. We love you very much and you shall be greatly missed... December 24 PresentsSo, since in PR midnight already passed, my family and I decided to do the gift exchange. Below is a picture of the gifts I received. First of all, on the right you will see a Pilón (in the back) and a Tostonera (in the front). The Pilón and the Tostonera are used to prepare puertorrican cuisine. The Tostonera (hence the name) is mostly used to make tostones ("fried plantain" YUMMY!!!). The Pilón is used to smash and mix just about anything that you want. This can be used to make mofongo ("Smashed Plantain" YUMMY!!!!!) as well. In the front, you can see an ornament that my mom gave me. Its a unicorn with a teddy bear on top that has the word "daughter" inscribed. Very pretty. On the left, it's a DVD of The Nutcracker (wanna see it with me Reshma?). I can't wait to see it. I wasn't able to catch a live performance this year. At least I will be able to see it during the holidays in a way. And finally a gift set of Dove products... What did you get? December 23 GGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRIt's at times like these that it is very hard NOT to be mad at MS. You have just written like 5 paragraphs into the blog...and what happens??? IE crashes on you, then Messenger, then Windows...gggggggrrrrrrrrrrr...and now I have to remember everything I wrote... This freakin' sucks! And dial-up sucks as well... December 22 It's 4:18 AM...It's 4:18 AM and I'm still awake. I have to leave for the airport in two hours and I figured that if I go to sleep now, I won't wake up in time. Things I am trying to do to stay awake:
I'm definitely December 20 This will be the last time...This will be the last time I see something and I don't have my camera with me. As I was driving this morning to get my contacts, I saw in front of me an SUV that had on it's roof a tire. Now, inside this tire, they had put up a little Xmas tree, with decorations. They had a Santa and some candy canes around as well. It was soo cool! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera...But, today is the last day. December 16 A capella Audition ResultsWell, the results are in. And unfortunately, I did not make it. I did not meet the needs of the group at this moment. It's okay...I had thought about it, and I don't think I had time for it. But, I'm going to see if I continue with my singing lessons. I believe that I have a shot. The Dentist and IWell, I had a dentist appointment (with my cute dentist I might add So after they put the anesthetic on, they start drilling away. Man, there is just something about knowing that they are drilling on your teeth that just makes you a little tense. They used two drills. The second one was a little bigger or something of that sort. At least it felt that way. Anyways, that second drill sort of tickled me. It felt like it was tickling my brain or something. I think it was that they were sort of touching my nerve and since it was numb, then that was the feeling it produced. So, I had to try hard not to start chuckling with a drill in my mouth. That was an experience. The dentist finished soon after that. My filling (which you can't tell because it is colored as my teeth) looks good. Now, with the anesthetic, I feel that my cheek is all swollen and everything, when it looks pretty normal. I don't want to talk. So, for all of those that have wondered when I will have a moment of silence, this is your chance.
December 14 Cool Eagle CameraCheck out this new technology that they use with eagles to see how they fly in the air. December 13 Blogging Part IIWell, here is my second try at blogging. I started this blog because I wanted to be the first Ana Eva. And thus get a blog with my name.
Let's see how this goes from here on out. Wish me luck. |
