January 22 Feeding SquirrelsI was SOOO excited today when I say the squirrel in the picture in my balcony. I was like, OUH! So cute! I think it was looking for food (squirrels are always looking for food). So I decided that I was going to look for a bird feeder, but I was going to put nuts in it so squirrels can have some food. I have some pine trees right outside of my balcony that I could easily hang it there. And then I'll be able to feed squirrels. Hopefully I won't have like a whole family of squirrels moving in... January 21 I talk too muchI'm sure many of you that know me personally will be like, HUH! to the Title of this blog but it has been confirmed...Well, at least Sprint can confirm. I spoke a total of 3,276 minutes last month. That is 54.6 hours which is 2.27 days!!! It's as if I spent a whole weekend just talking none stop! I talk too much...but I'm loved that way. :-) Sleep and AlzheimerSo, today I woke up with the quesion, Why do we sleep?
Well, of course, scientist haven't been able to answer that question. It is believed that it is to recover from a day's full of work. Recover whatever energy we might have lost...lets the body fight of viruses and diseases better...help to learn more...etc. PBS aired a program back in 2002 about the functions of the brain through out the human life. Their last episode was about The Aging Brain and they talked about Alzheimer. They mentioned that at the moment there were some researchers studying a Vaccine (AN-1792) for it. I was like, wow! That would be so cool! I wonder what happened? I mean, this was almost 4 years ago and nothing new has come out. So I did some research. Well, unfortunately the trial was terminated since some patients experienced central nervous system (CNS) inflammation; a very serious illness. They still say that they were able to collect a lot of useful data. Let's hope that they were is some form of track. January 04 Latest musicSo I got hooked once again with Utada Hikaru, with her new single Passion, the theme from Kingdom Hearts 2.
That girls sure does cool stuff!
Plus I discovered that she had released a CD in the US called Exodus. All dance music, really good.
I didn't even know it was her playing in the radio when I would hear the songs in C 89.5.
You should go out and get it! Updated Spider Solitaire ScoreSo in trying to stay awake today, I started playing Spider Solitaire again today.
I broke even at the end of the day. Hadn't played in a while, so getting into the groove of 4 suits is a bit hard, but I did it...won a game in the end. :-)
Going to eat at Wendy's now...or Quizno's...
Let's see where the road takes me...
January 03 Welcoming in 2006Hello ALL!
Welcome to 2006 - "The Perfect Year"!
Just like in the song from the musical Sunset Boulevard "So many dreams to tease the heart".
New year, new expectations...
And just like the priest said in yesterday's mass, "a new blank canvas...so many possibilities..."
Well, New Year's Resolutions:
- Exercise
- Keep singing
- Do a good job at work
- Keep in touch with family and friends
- Do stuff on my new mac
- Read books
- Play video games
- And so many other things...
BTW, I have been "pimping up" my mac. That's the term people keep on using. Elfred says that I am becoming a "web 2.0 user". *Shrug* November 17 News definitely worth blogging! So, I have said to various friends of mine that I will start blogging more and I guess there is no better time to start than with the following news:
Elfred and I got back together!
I couldn't be happier! Third time's a charm! So wish us luck everybody! September 26 Video Games LiveWell, I was just informed of the following Video Games Concert!
I'm trying to get tickets to go! Man, this should be sooo exciting! A live Video Game Symphony Concert!
Check for a location near you.
People in Austin, it's coming your way as well! Don't Miss it! September 14 Summer is gone :-(Hello everybody!
It seemed that summer started and I disappeared! Well, it's just that I started doing a lot of things.
Here are some of the highlights of my summer!
I joined Dahn Yoga. Truly a wonderful experience to enhance mind, body and soul. I have learned how my mind can control my body. Also, my body has definitely gotten healthier (and more flexible!). I was able to go to YEHA, the Young Earth-Human Alliance Awakening Camp in Sedona, Arizona. It was truly a WONDERFUL experience. I met a lot of people and received a lot of love. I love you guys! Keep up the HSP smiles! I have posted pictures from YEHA and Sedona in the photo album area.
I was also able to give my first singing recital. I sung "I Feel Pretty" and "One Hand, One Heart" both from the musical West Side Story. How much I missed performing! And they both came out rather well!
I finally went camping! I went with Mando, Pablo, Becky, Craig and Julia. We had a good time. Check out the pictures in the phote album area.
My good old friend Wendy came for a visit over Labor Day Weekend. We did some hiking, partying and went to Bumbershoot!
Finally this past weekend I participated in WIGI, the first Women In Games Internation conference. Truly a wonderful and motivating experience to see women succeding in the gaming industry. (That on this note I recently bought Advance Wars: Dual Strike. You can never go wrong with Advance Wars. Wonderful game!)
Well, as you can see it was a busy summer. I'm glad I enjoyed it!
Enjoy the pictures! June 09 My Bonzai Sprouted!!!!Well, a week ago I bought a little Bonzai started kit. It brings a vase, the proper soil, some decorations and Hyssop seeds. I prepared the things last week, hoping that I will be able to nurture my Bonzai tree. So, I realized on Monday when I came in, that the soil had dried up quite a bit. I was like, oh no! I killed it! I quickly watered it and have been keeping the soil moist this past week. This morning I checked it, and there was nothing there. I decided to water it right now and guess what!!! A little leaf just popped out of the soil!!!!!!!!! Wow! I am so EXCITED! I mean, it's actually growing. I am raising a little Bonzai tree! Oh, I'm such a proud mother! YAY!!! June 04 A new favoriteI have just been introduced to a BEAUTIFUL song. All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera. Lyrics can be found here. One of the original cast members is my very dear role model Sarah Brightman. Guys, if you want to be romantic, ask your girl to dance with you this song. It has quickly become one of my favorites. So much love and passion. Wow....How I wish somebody would sing this to me... May 31 A funny noteSomebody just sent me this link: http://files.bungie.org/50sfilm.wmv Very funny...especially if you are a Halo fan. Enjoy! May 19 So much drama in PhDA friend of mine sent me the following link. I think it is actually funny song. People have too much free time on their hands. Enjoy! Warning: You will probably not get it unless you are familiar with software terms. It does become part of you...So, I was chilling at work yesterday with some co-workers when one of them asks me: "Ana, where is your iPod?" I answered: "In the office". He respoinds: "Ana, it's not natural to see you without it, go and get it!" I was warned that this would happen. I was warned that iPods become part of you; an extension if you will. I was like: "Yeah right...that's to freaky." But alas, I must fear it's true. Over the weekend, my iPod finally went into a coma. It had been having some bad times. Jumping songs (that are perfectly fine in my PC), taking a very very painfully long time to start a song, making weird noises...The last thing it did, about 48 hours before it finally died was that it mixed two songs but I was only playing one of them (just one of them was displayed) and no...it was not a remix. That was REALLY freaky. The iPod doing it's own remixing...Makes you wonder about AI doesn't it. Well, it finally died. So I took it to the Apple Store. After some time, I was attended by this cute guy and I was given the bad news that my iPod died. The hard drive failed. So, they gave me a new one. I was really sad and empty though during the time that my iPod had died. I was going for walks and no music was coming in my ears. Ouh...It's sad to think that not even Apple products can stand the wrath of my staticness. But, thankfully, everything worked out and now I'm back on track. May 03 Finally!I was searching for the description of a process through the net and I found this page. A very incitive page on the different process that you can find on your machine. It even tells you which processes are viruses! Very useful page! Check it out! Check this outA friend of mine sent me this link: Click here The guy in this video has some mad skillz. I don't know who you are, but pretty impressive! April 29 Crop CirclesAbout 2 weeks ago, I was having a nightly chat with a few friends of mine. One of the topics discussed was that of the Crop Circles - the mysterious geomatrical formations made on crops throughout the world. Well, it just so happens that I turned on the TV and what program is on? A program on TLC about Crop Circles. I must say, they are VERY impressive. Check out this site to see a lot of impressive photos. One of the images that has impressed me the most was this formation of about 75 circles, with some circles being almost up to 75 feet in diameter. Although, you see something like this formation and DEFINITELY that one has to be a hoax. I must say, whoever is really making these, are getting VERY good at them. Just compare the ones from the early 1990's to the ones in the early 2000s. You can definitely notice the improvement. Will this mystery ever be solved? April 28 I felt like Al Bundy today...So, yesterday I bought some 16 songs from iTunes. I was really excited. Getting them into my iPod, being able to listen to them anytime I want. But, there was this one song, that I knew I liked a lot, but I just couldn't remember ANYTHING about it. I knew that if I stopped thinking about it, it would just appear. Well, it wasn't 'till this morning that I was able to remember something. Hehehehe, all I remembered was "Hhmm-hmm-hmmm". Hehehehe, and obsiously the intro tune. But it was driving me nuts...I just couldn't get past that humming. Then I remembered this episode from Married with Children (that's right, I'm getting old, so what?). In that episode, Al Bundy was trying to get this song that all he remembered about it was "Hhmm himmmm". Hehehehe, they went to this music store where there was this guy that you can give him phrases like that and he knew them. When Al went to him, the guy wasn't able to recognize the song. Al was all disappointed and sad, when suddenly, the tune starts playing in the music store. He gets all excited and says:"Peg (does a little dance) that's my song" and he rushed over to the guy and said I want that song. Afterwards, they get home and Al puts the LP on top of the coffee table. Cristina Applegate and her show boyfriend (which is played by the actor who plays Joey in Friends) get to the house and sit on the couch. I can't quite remember what the exact dialog was, but I know that "Joey" says: "I have a feeling that your dad and I are going to become great friends". At this, he puts his feet up on the coffee table and breaks the LP of the song that Al bought. Hehehehehe, the episode finishes there. Hehehehe, I can't believe I remember all of that from that one episode. Anyways, I felt like Al Bundy that I couldn't get the name of that tune. Eventually I remembered the lyrics but have not been able to find it on the web. Do you know the name of this song?
--------------------------------------- Update: I knew that if I listened to C 89.5 long enough, that they would play the song. How could I have forgotten?? The artist is Sin Plomo and the title is It's You. Awesome song! April 26 Do you hate Chrono Cross?Well, I was surfin through the web when I came upon this page: The Chrono Cross Hate Page. Up to now, all I have heard about Chrono Cross were good things. Oh! It's a great RPG, etc, etc, etc. But, I start to reflect, is it really that disappointing? I must say, I have started it at least three times, and I have stopped. I did play and finished Chrono Trigger. Definitely, one of the best RPGs ever made. I must say, I do agree in some things to what the page says about Chrono Cross...but in overall, I think if it was not mentioned that it was the sequel to Chrono Trigger, then I think it is a good RPG by itself. What do you think? The grandness of being a womanToday, I feel like singing Shania Twain's song: Man! I feel like a woman. I woke up today having this great sense of being a woman. I know that the feeling initiated when I bought a new purse yesterday. For over a year I have been looking for a white purse that matches a pair of white sandals that I have. That's right guys, a year looking for a purse (although I wasn't actively going to the mall each weekend looking for one). I finally found one yesterday that I thought it suited me. So, because I have to show off my new purse, I had to wear my white sandals. And I thought, well being spring and all, I think I can try wearing a skirt instead of jeans...that way people will really notice my sandals. I must say, clothes has a powerful influence on how you feel (or at least to me). Take yesterday for example. I was wearing my <GEEK> shirt (you can get one from Think Geek, and guys, there is one for you too). I even got to the point of quoting Star Wars! I was definitely in touch with my inner geek yesterday. So today having a skirt and all, you know, you feel you have to dress up a little (wear the hair nicely, put on a little bit of make-up, etc.) You have to also sit properly and walk very feminine. All in all, it gives me this great sense of girlieness. I just can't be thankful enough that I am a woman today. Hehehehe, my girlieness is taking so much over me today that I just couldn't help think that the little dog that appears in the Search window in Windows is so cute. I left a search that I did over night. And what do I see when I bring up the window today? The little dog is sleeping! That is soo cute. I took a snap shot for all those curious to see it.
